About Me
Having an IT Background and having worked as a consultant for many years, I always knew I didn’t want to spent my life working for others and be in a 9 to 5 job. I started doing some personal development work and during one seminar I came across a company offering a share trading course, which they promised would yield average returns of 30% with minimum time involvement.
Up until then I was one of those people who had bought shares at the top of the rally only to see them fall shortly after. Of course you hold on to them, because you know that what comes down must come up. It is not until you see them being worth only about 30 % of their original value that you realize share trading should be left to the experts.
I decided to buy the course, which is called Home Study Course and started to apply the rules that I learned by paper trading various stocks. After I was confident enough about the newly learned skills and began to use real money in the market. I had about 20,000 AUD as a starting capital and within the first 2 years and help of leveraging the market, my portfolio grow to about 150,000 AUD.
Then the Global Economic Crisis hit and the market started falling. Thanks to the rules that I learned, I had indicators on most trades that told me it is time to sell, which thankfully I did. Obviously they were some trades that resulted in a loss, but in the end I came out way in front. It followed a time where I didn’t trade much, making small trades just to see the shares to fall further and finally decided to stay out of the market until there is sign of recovery.
I am starting this blog in August 2009 for a number of reasons:
- Share my trading experience with other students of the Home Study Course and anyone interested in share trading.
- Getting more discipline in my trading
- Proving to me that I can apply my skills in a profitable way
- Coming from an IT background, I will also test various SEO strategies with this blog and make this interesting and valuable resource to read.
Where I am now (August 2009)? Since December 2008 I am proud father of a beautiful baby girl and I am running an Online Life Coaching business with my wonderful and supportive wife. I am starting trading again and I am looking forward to a very prosperous future.
I recommend you read this next as I write more about the blog itself. Always remember what you read in here, is based on my personal experience. I am in no way a financial advisor.
Success Is Yours
